Oh hi, old blog. I’m so very far behind on updating you. I have all sorts of garden progress photos to share and what not. But here’s what we did in May.
enjoying husby’s well earned week of vacation
hiking through a nearby state park. We went to forage for morels, and while we didn’t find any there, husby did find some in our neighborhood. Despite not finding any on our hiking trip, we did enjoy the beautiful views of the lake we were hiking near and the ice cream that we finished the afternoon with.
visiting friends in Philadelphia. It had been far too long since we’d seen many of these friends, and it was fun to introduce them all to Cheeks, as well as get caught up again.
moving all our furniture out to the house. We still had a couple weeks that we stayed in our apartment, but by the end of the month we were completely moved into the house. Now to figure out where everything goes.
digging up plenty of garden space, and filling beds with seed potatoes, onions, cabbage, broccoli, kale, radishes, and many other veggies.
baking sour dough with a renewed passion. I find the long fermented bread isn’t as hard on my stomach, and I’ve been using a mildly modified version of the Tartine country bread recipe with beautiful results. And after a few months of regular bread baking, my sour dough starter is really starting to develop it’s flavor. Just in time for jam season!Comments: Be the first to comment
