Thankful

I’m thankful for the wonderful friends husby (and me by proxy) have made during med school. And the chance to eat fancy cheese and laugh with many of them tonight.

Thankful

Today, I am thankful for the fact that no one really cares that I attempted to blog every day in October and then crashed and burned after the first 2 weeks.

pillow fluffing

The other day I posited to husby that the baby was treating my bladder like a pillow. When it would suddenly empty out, the babe would try to fluff it back up right away, resulting in me having to pee right after having just peed.

Husby thinks I’m crediting the fetus with too much cognition on this one. But have you met us? This baby is doomed to be too smart for its own good.

car talk

How many automotive engineers does it take to jump start a car?

At least 4, with 4 different car batteries, and 3 sets of jumper cables.

And then the AAA jump starter guy shows up and informs you it is in fact not your battery. Put the car in neutral and it starts right up.

Turns out a neutral safety switch is a thing. And sometimes it shorts.

AAA membership is seriously the best $80 bucks (Gold member, baby) I spend annually.

sugar sugar

Number one reason husby knows the babe is his: my ridiculous sweets craving the past few months.

Normally I’m like meh. Maybe a bite or two of some dark chocolate, but otherwise please pass the pretzels. Give me something salty and crunchy, preferably with something cheesy to dip it into and I’m a pig.

But lately. CANDY. Peanut butter m&ms, these new white chocolate “candy corn” m&ms, pumpkin spice flavored Hershey’s kisses. Ice cream.

Seriously. Thank goodness gluten makes me feel like crap (literally and figuratively). Because the bakery items at the coffee shop at work call to me every afternoon. It might be the only thing that saves me from gestational diabetes.

Today I was actually disgusted by the amount of sugar that I’ve been consuming lately. So as soon as these last few bags of candy are finished off, I’m on a sugar moratorium until the holidays.
